ちょうちん。 祭りには欠かせないアイテムですが、その歴史は古く室町時代あたりから使われるようになったようです。 昔は上流階級の人だけが使用できる明かりとして使用されていたものらしいですけど、 江戸時代あたりからロウソクの大量生産がはじまり一般へと普及していったようです。 今ではオリジナルのちょうちんだって作れるみたいです。

A "ch?chin" is an essential item for festivals, and its history dates back to around the Muromachi period. It seems that in the past, it was used as a source of light that only the upper class could utilize. However, during the Edo period, mass production of candles began, leading to its widespread use among the general population. Nowadays, it is possible to create custom-made ch?chin lanterns.
